PANABO CITY — Police operatives arrested a suspected high-value drug personality in a successful buy-bust operation in Purok 18, Barangay New Visayas, Panabo City on Sunday morning, December 29.

The anti-drug sting was launched at around 9:24 a.m. by joint elements of the Panabo City Police Station led by PLTCOL Dexter R. Cuevas, the Davao del Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit (DNPIU), and the 2nd Davao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (DNPMFC), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao del Norte.

Authorities identified the suspect only as alias “Ondo,” who is now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Confiscated from the suspect were approximately 59.9 grams of suspected shabu—with an estimated market value of ₱407,320—as well as drug paraphernalia, marked money used in the operation, and a motorcycle believed to be utilized in illegal drug transactions.

PCOL Glenn G. Cristines, Provincial Director of the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO), lauded the team for its intensified crackdown against illegal drugs, reaffirming law enforcement’s unwavering commitment to dismantle drug networks and safeguard the public from the threats of narcotics.

The arrested suspect is currently under police custody while charges are being prepared for filing in court.

Authorities stressed that operations against drug personalities will continue as part of the government’s expanded anti-drug campaign in Davao del Norte.
