DANGCAGAN, Bukidnon — Authorities have seized illegally cut Gmelina trees following a joint operation by the Dangcagan Municipal Police Station and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO)–Don Carlos in Purok 6, Barangay Migcuya, Dangcagan, Bukidnon.

Police said a 36-year-old man was caught in the act of cutting trees after a concerned citizen tipped off authorities about the illegal activity. Responding personnel immediately conducted an operation, leading to the suspect’s apprehension at the site.

A total of 14 Gmelina trees were found already cut down during the inspection. Verification with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) confirmed that the chainsaw operator had no valid cutting permit, in clear violation of forestry and environmental protection laws.
