CARMEN, Davao del Norte — Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested in a pre-dawn buy-bust operation that yielded an estimated ₱4.5 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Ising early Tuesday, November 25.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Regional Office 11, through its Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro Provincial Offices, carried out the operation in coordination with the 2nd Davao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Carmen Municipal Police Station. The sting was launched at around 2:48 a.m. in Purok 7.
The suspects, identified only as alias “Dodong” and alias “Jun,” were arrested after they allegedly conspired to sell one medium heat-sealed plastic sachet containing around 25 grams of suspected shabu—valued at ₱125,000—to an undercover PDEA operative.
Upon their arrest, authorities seized 11 more sachets of suspected shabu in various sizes weighing approximately 550 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱4.4 million. Drug paraphernalia and the marked buy-bust money were also recovered at the scene.
Both suspects are now under PDEA custody and will be facing criminal charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA said the operation forms part of the agency’s ongoing intensified campaign against illegal drugs in Davao del Norte.
