ZAMBOANGA CITY — The primary suspect in the shooting incident at the Tugbungan Picnic Ground on Wednesday night, November 20, voluntarily surrendered to authorities early Thursday.
According to the Zamboanga City Police Office, the suspect personally approached Barangay Chairman Monching Saavedra of Tugbungan and turned himself in with the assistance of personnel from Police Station 6 in Tetuan. His surrender came just hours after the incident, which disrupted what was supposed to be a normal evening at the popular picnic area.
Police reported that the suspect expressed willingness to face the investigation and any charges that may arise from the shooting. Authorities have not yet released his identity pending further inquiry.
