KORONADAL CITY – Police are investigating the brutal killing of a construction worker who was found dead inside a construction site at Purok Martinez, Barangay Zone IV, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, on the morning of October 20, 2025.
The victim was identified as Rogie Oren, 31, a resident of Purok Maharlika, Barangay Zone III, and employed as a stay-in worker at the said site. Initial police reports indicate that Oren sustained a severe head injury believed to have been caused by a hard object, possibly a metal pipe, leading to his death.
According to the site foreman, Oren was in charge of guarding the construction site. His brother-in-law later discovered his lifeless body, which had been covered with a sack from head to foot. Authorities also confirmed that Oren’s Sky Go 125 motorcycle was missing, raising suspicion that the crime may have involved robbery.
Police investigators from the Koronadal City Police Station are now collecting evidence and interviewing potential witnesses to determine the motive and identify the perpetrator behind the gruesome attack.
Authorities have condemned the violent act and vowed to bring justice to the victim and his family.
