Davao City — Authorities have uncovered a staggering ₱12 million worth of suspected dried marijuana leaves inside a boarding house in Barangay 5-A, following the surrender of a 19-year-old woman to local police.
According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the woman voluntarily turned over several packs of suspected dried marijuana weighing around 23 kilos, along with disposable vapes allegedly filled with marijuana extract. The illegal items were reportedly discovered in the boarding house of her boyfriend in Datu Bago, Barangay 5-A.
Police said her boyfriend was arrested on September 9 during a simultaneous checkpoint operation in Barangay Panacan. The contraband was later traced back to his residence, prompting the woman to surrender the items to authorities.
The seized marijuana and paraphernalia, valued at approximately ₱12 million, have been turned over to the Davao City Forensic Unit for further examination and investigation.
Authorities have yet to determine the source of the illegal drugs and are investigating whether the seized items are part of a larger distribution network in the city.
Police officials commended the woman for cooperating and urged the public to immediately report any information on illegal drugs, stressing the government’s continuing campaign against narcotics.
