AGUSAN DEL NORTE – In a string of law enforcement operations from August 5 to 8, 2025, the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and other units, arrested multiple high-value and street-level drug personalities, seized illegal drugs, and captured the Regional Top 3 Most Wanted Person for frustrated murder.
On August 5, operatives from the Tubay Municipal Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), in coordination with PDEA-ADN, conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok Dalisay, Barangay Poblacion 1, Tubay, leading to the arrest of alias “Arc,” 42, a construction worker from Barangay Tinigbasan. Confiscated during the operation was suspected shabu.
A day later, August 6, Nasipit Municipal Police Station DEU, with PDEA-ADN, carried out another buy-bust in District 2, Barangay Ata-atahon, Nasipit, arresting alias “Jojo,” a jobless resident of Barangay 2, Nasipit, for possession of suspected shabu.
On August 7, Nasipit police, through the Regional Intelligence Division 13’s Target Intelligence Packet, served a warrant of arrest in Barangay 4, Nasipit, against alias “Jun-jun,” 38, a painter from Butuan City. He is the Top 3 Most Wanted Person in Caraga for the crime of frustrated murder, with a recommended bail of ₱200,000. The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 4 in Butuan City.
That same day, in separate operations, RTR Municipal Police Station arrested alias “Tagalog,” 28, in Purok 3, Poblacion 2, Remedios T. Romualdez, and Buenavista Municipal Police Station apprehended alias “Joje,” 33, in Purok 6, Barangay 7, Buenavista, both for possession of suspected shabu. The former was categorized as a newly identified Street-Level Individual (SLI), while the latter was tagged as an SLI through intelligence monitoring.
On August 8, Nasipit MPS and PDEA-ADN executed another buy-bust in District 7, Barangay Triangulo, Nasipit, arresting alias “Waway,” 42, a High-Value Individual (HVI), and seizing suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
All arrested suspects were informed of their constitutional rights in a language they understood and are now in police custody, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, except for “Jun-jun,” who is facing a separate criminal case.
Representatives from the Department of Justice, media, and barangay officials served as witnesses during the operations.
PCOL April Mark C. Young, ADNPPO Provincial Director, lauded the coordinated efforts of the police and partner agencies, stressing that the series of arrests demonstrate the province’s commitment to neutralizing crime syndicates and curbing illegal activities.
“Our intelligence-driven and aggressive operations against illegal drugs and fugitives will not slow down. We remain steadfast in protecting our communities and ensuring that criminals face justice,” Young said.
