CARMEN, Davao del Norte – Authorities seized more than half a kilo of suspected shabu and arrested a 46-year-old man in a buy-bust operation in Purok 10, Barangay Ising, Carmen, Davao del Norte on August 8, 2025.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 (PDEA-XI) identified the suspect only as alias “Boloy.” The operation, conducted past 1 p.m., resulted in the purchase of one sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect by a PDEA poseur buyer. Subsequent searches yielded 16 more sachets containing the same substance.
Authorities said the total seized items weighed approximately 527 grams, with an estimated street value running into millions of pesos.
The anti-drug operation was carried out by PDEA’s Davao del Norte Provincial Office in coordination with the 2nd Davao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Carmen Municipal Police Station.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
