Marawi City, Lanao del Sur – July 13, 2025 — In a major step toward improving local health services, Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr. led the ceremonial turnover of land ambulance units to all 39 municipalities and one city in Lanao del Sur on Friday.

The event, held at the 103rd Infantry Brigade Headquarters in Kampo Ranao, was made possible through the joint efforts of the Office of the President, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and the Department of Health (DOH), under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP).

Gracing the ceremony were key national officials including DOH Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa, DBM Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, and newly appointed DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, signaling strong national support for healthcare development in the province.

Governor Adiong expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of the ambulance units in ensuring timely medical response and patient referrals to higher-level health facilities.

“These ambulances are not just vehicles—they are lifelines that will bridge our communities to urgent and quality healthcare,” Adiong said.

The turnover marks a vital milestone in the province’s efforts to strengthen its health systems, particularly in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. With the new ambulances in place, residents in remote municipalities are expected to gain faster and safer access to emergency medical services.

The initiative also reflects the national government’s broader goal of narrowing the healthcare access gap in underserved regions, aligning with the Marcos administration’s thrust toward inclusive and resilient public health infrastructure.
