MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur — Authorities arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized ₱5.1 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation on Friday, July 11, in Barangay Basak Malutlut.

The suspect, identified as Nur Jamal Dimalutang alias “Bolkie,” a resident of Marantao, Lanao del Sur, was caught selling around 750 grams of suspected shabu to undercover police operatives. His arrest was the result of a well-coordinated entrapment operation initiated by the Marawi City Police Station and the Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office, in collaboration with several units under the Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR).

Brig. Gen. Jaysen De Guzman, PRO-BAR regional director, confirmed that the operation was launched following reports from local government officials in Marawi City and nearby Marantao about Dimalutang’s involvement in large-scale drug transactions.

During the operation, police recovered the following items:

  • One heat-sealed plastic sachet containing approximately 750 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of ₱5.1 million;
  • One genuine ₱1,000 bill used as marked money, placed on top of 700 pieces of photocopied ₱1,000 bills inside a green plastic cellophane;
  • A black Yamaha NMAX motorcycle with temporary plate number 1017-8105022, believed to have been used by the suspect.

The arrest was carried out under pre-operation number 30005-072025-0104 and was led by PLT Dexter Lee Pasiwen of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU)–LDS PPO, under the direct supervision of PCPT Abdulnail R. Panda-ag. Also involved were personnel from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU-LDS PPO), Regional Mobile Force Companies (1401st, 1403rd, 1405th RMFC RMFB14-A), 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Regional Intelligence Division–Regional Intelligence and Analysis Team (RID-RIAT), and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Marawi CPS.

PCOL Caezar P. Cabuhat, provincial director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, commended the operatives for the successful operation, calling it a major blow against illegal drug operations in the region.

The suspect and the seized items are now under the custody of the Marawi City Police Station for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges.
