General Santos City, July 12, 2025 — An anti-illegal drug operation led by the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) in General Santos City resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu worth ₱83,640 and various drug paraphernalia, though the primary target managed to elude arrest.

The operation was carried out on July 10 by personnel from Police Station 7 and SWAT/CMFC of the General Santos City Police Office, in coordination with the Highway Patrol Team of RHPU 12, 1201st Maneuver Company of RMFB 12, Regional Intelligence Division 12, and MARPSTA 12.

Law enforcement personnel served a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against a suspect known only by the alias “Fernan,” an unemployed resident of Barangay Fatima, where the operation was conducted.

Despite the coordinated effort, the suspect was able to escape. However, authorities recovered two sachets of suspected shabu with a total weight of 12.3 grams, valued at ₱83,640 based on the National Standard Drug Price, along with assorted drug paraphernalia.

All seized items were turned over to Police Station 7 for proper documentation and further investigation.

PRO 12 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Arnold P. Ardiente reaffirmed the police’s commitment to the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs. “We are not letting up. The subject of this operation will be held accountable for his violations. PRO 12 remains committed to pursuing all individuals involved in the illegal drug trade and bringing them to justice,” Ardiente said.

Authorities continue to pursue leads in locating and apprehending the suspect.
