DAVAO CITY — A 30-year-old man accused of repeatedly raping four minor girls, including three of his own nieces, was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI- Semro) in an entrapment operation conducted at 11:56 AM on July 2, 2025, outside a fast-food restaurant in Ecoland, Davao City.

The suspect, identified by his aliases “Renren” and “Roger,” had been hiding for years and was moving between different areas within Region 11 to evade arrest. He is facing four counts of rape and statutory rape, based on incidents that occurred in 2018 in Maragusan, Davao de Oro.
According to NBI Agent Vicente Essex Minguez, the first victim, now 19 years old, was only 11 when she was first assaulted. She was taken to a secluded area and threatened that her family would be killed if she reported the abuse. For years, she remained silent-until 2023, when she discovered that her younger sisters had also allegedly been molested by the same uncle. She then filed a case on March 7, 2023.

Authorities said a warrant of arrest was issued in 2022, but the suspect continued to evade law enforcement by frequently changing residence. NBI operatives were able to track him down through informants familiar with his whereabouts.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to using marijuana and claimed it played a role in his actions. He expressed remorse, but one of the victims, identified only as “Jell,” said she is not yet ready to forgive him. The suspect is now in NBI custody and will undergo drug testing as part of the ongoing investigation. The bureau is encouraging other potential victims to come forward and file complaints so that full justice may be served.
