Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay — In a series of anti-drug operations conducted on June 6, 2025, the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office apprehended three individuals for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Authorities seized a combined total of ₱34,544 worth of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia from separate locations across the province.

The first operation, led by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Ipil Municipal Police Station, took place at Purok Masigla, Barangay Poblacion, Ipil. Police arrested an adult male suspect after he was caught in possession of 1.25 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price (SDP) of ₱8,500.

In another coordinated effort, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Zamboanga Sibugay, together with the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and Titay MPS, conducted a buy-bust operation at Purok Recodo, Poblacion, Titay. The operation led to the arrest of another adult male, recently identified as a street-level drug personality. Confiscated from the suspect was approximately 3 grams of suspected shabu, with an SDP of ₱20,400.

Meanwhile, a separate drug bust in Purok Tandang Sora, Barangay Tupilac, R.T. Lim, conducted by the SDET of R.T. Lim MPS, resulted in the arrest of a third adult male suspect, also classified as a newly identified street-level individual. Authorities seized 0.83 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱5,644.

All arrested individuals are currently in custody at their respective municipal police stations. The seized illegal substances have been turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit for proper examination.

Provincial Director Police Colonel Barnard Danie V. Dasugo reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to combat illegal drugs in the region.

“Our relentless campaign against illegal drugs in the province continues,” said PCOL Dasugo. “We are committed to rid our streets of drug peddlers and ensure a safe and secure environment for our communities. We encourage our community partners to continue working with us to achieve this goal.”

Authorities assured the public that intensified anti-illegal drug operations will persist as part of the province’s ongoing campaign to ensure peace and order.
