Carmen, Cotabato — May 5, 2025 — A meaningful send-off ceremony was held this morning for troops who will be deployed to help maintain peace and order during the upcoming 2025 National and Local Elections. The event took place alongside the regular flag-raising ceremony at the headquarters of the 602nd Infantry (LIBERATOR) Brigade, Camp Lucero, Carmen, Cotabato.

The send-off marks the Philippine Army’s strong commitment to supporting the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and other government agencies in ensuring a safe, peaceful, and orderly election process within the area of responsibility of the 602nd Brigade.

Present during the ceremony were troops from OpCon and tenant units, including the 40th Infantry Battalion, 34th Infantry Battalion, 1st Scout Ranger, 7th Field Artillery Battalion, 6th Field Bravo Battery, and 61st Division Recon Company. These units will work hand in hand to provide security during the election period, demonstrating their readiness to uphold their duty in service of the public.

In his message, Brigadier General Ricky P. Bunayog, Commander of the 602nd Brigade, emphasized the critical role of the troops in protecting the integrity of the elections:

“Our mission is not only to guard but to ensure that every Filipino’s right to vote is exercised freely and without fear. Your presence in polling areas guarantees our commitment to a peaceful election.”

The deployed personnel have undergone the necessary orientation and preparations to equip them for any potential security challenges in the region.

The 602nd Infantry (LIBERATOR) Brigade remains a steadfast partner of the government and the Filipino people in promoting peace and democracy—especially during times when every voice and vote matters.
