ALABEL, Sarangani — A 26-year-old woman was brutally killed by her live-in partner following a heated argument fueled by jealousy and a dispute over their relationship, authorities reported.

The victim, identified only as alias “Jenny,” sustained multiple stab wounds after being attacked by her partner, alias “Ondo,” 25, in Sitio Tangis, Barangay Datal Anggas on the evening of March 31, 2026. Both the victim and the suspect were residents of the area.
Initial police investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly became enraged after suspecting that Jenny was involved with another man. The jealousy reportedly escalated into a confrontation between the couple.
Authorities said the situation worsened when Ondo insisted that Jenny agree to live with him, claiming he had already spent a significant amount on their relationship. However, the victim refused his demand, further intensifying the argument.
In a fit of rage, the suspect stabbed Jenny multiple times, leading to her death.
Following the incident, Ondo attempted to take his own life by stabbing himself. However, responding police officers were able to immediately intervene, preventing his death and placing him under custody.
The suspect is currently being treated at a hospital for his self-inflicted injuries while under police guard.
Authorities are preparing to file appropriate criminal charges against him, as they continue to investigate the case.
The incident underscores the deadly consequences of domestic violence and highlights the urgent need for stronger awareness and intervention in abusive relationships.
