Alabel, Sarangani Province – March 13, 2025 – A joint police operation successfully implemented a search warrant in Purok Acacia, Barangay Poblacion, Alabel, Sarangani Province, resulting in the confiscation of illegal firearms and explosives.
The operation, led by PLTCOL Reynaldo S. Delantien, Chief of Police of Alabel Municipal Police Station (MPS), was carried out in coordination with Sarangani 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Sarangani Police Intelligence Unit (PIU)/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 1201st, and the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU). This initiative aligns with the authorities’ ongoing efforts to curb illegal possession of firearms and explosives in the province.
The search warrant, numbered 06-2025 and issued by the Honorable Judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Office of the Executive Judge in Alabel, was served against a suspect identified only as alias “Ric.” However, upon sensing the arrival of law enforcement personnel, the suspect managed to evade arrest and fled in an unknown direction.
Despite the suspect’s escape, the police conducted a thorough search of the premises in the presence of Barangay Kagawad representatives from Barangay Poblacion, a media representative from Radio Bandera Philippines, and the suspect’s family members to ensure transparency and adherence to due process.
The operation resulted in the seizure of the following items from the suspect’s premises:
- One (1) serviceable .38 caliber revolver pistol with serial number 44256, loaded with three (3) live rounds;
- One (1) serviceable homemade revolver without a serial number, loaded with four (4) live rounds of 5.56 ammunition;
- One (1) rifle grenade.
The confiscated items were secured and transported to Alabel Municipal Police Station for proper documentation, investigation, and legal proceedings.
Authorities emphasized that the operation was conducted legally, peacefully, and in an orderly manner. Law enforcement units continue to pursue alias “Ric,” who is now facing charges for violating Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
