QUIRINO, Sultan Kudarat — A man was declared dead on the spot after being shot multiple times by still unidentified assailants on Saturday night in Purok Pidtebo, authorities confirmed.

Initial police reports indicate that the fatal shooting occurred under unclear circumstances, with the victim sustaining multiple gunshot wounds that caused his immediate death. Responding officers found the victim lifeless at the scene upon arrival.

Investigators are currently pursuing a possible personal grudge as the motive behind the killing, although this has yet to be firmly established. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the victim pending proper identification and notification of next of kin.

Witness accounts remain limited, but reports suggest that the attack was sudden and deliberate, with the suspects fleeing the scene immediately after carrying out the shooting. No descriptions of the perpetrators have been made public as of this writing.

Law enforcement operatives have launched a follow-up investigation to piece together the sequence of events leading to the incident, including efforts to determine whether the victim had known enemies or prior disputes that could have led to the attack.

The killing has sparked concern among residents in the area, with some expressing fear over what appears to be a targeted act of violence. Authorities have assured the public that intensified police operations are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects.

Police are urging anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward as they continue to gather evidence and testimonies.

The incident adds to ongoing concerns about gun-related violence in parts of Mindanao, where personal conflicts and long-standing disputes have, in some cases, escalated into deadly encounters.
