PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur — Authorities dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested three individuals during a joint anti-drug operation conducted at around 12:20 p.m. on March 11, 2026, in Purok 22 Bliss, Barangay Poblacion, this municipality.

The operation was led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 13 – Agusan del Sur Provincial Office (PDEA RO 13–ADSPO) in coordination with the Prosperidad Municipal Police Station.

Arrested during the buy-bust operation were three individuals allegedly involved in illegal drug activities inside the premises, including the suspected drug den maintainer, a drug den employee, and a visitor who was present during the police operation.

According to authorities, operatives conducted a controlled buy-bust transaction which led to the successful dismantling of the drug den believed to be a site for illegal drug selling and use.

During the operation, law enforcers confiscated a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, which served as the subject of the sale, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱34,000.

Also recovered from the scene was a used rolled paper containing dried marijuana leaves.

Authorities further seized several non-drug items commonly associated with illegal drug use, including disposable lighters, aluminum foil strips, and various improvised drug paraphernalia. Mobile phones, a sling bag, and the marked buy-bust money used in the operation were also recovered as evidence.

The three suspects are now under police custody and are set to face multiple charges for violations of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Drug Den), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensify anti-illegal drug operations in the province, emphasizing the importance of intelligence-driven actions and close coordination among law enforcement agencies to curb drug-related activities.

Officials also urged the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting government efforts by reporting suspicious drug-related activities in their communities, stressing that community cooperation remains a key factor in the campaign against illegal drugs.
