Wao, Lanao del Sur — In a coordinated crackdown against illegal drugs, law enforcement authorities successfully arrested two suspected drug personalities and seized illicit substances worth over Php210,800 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay East Kili-kili on January 28, 2026.

The operation was the result of sustained intelligence gathering and careful surveillance by a joint team composed of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) SOU BAR, SOU 15, Wao Municipal Police Station, 3rd Platoon 1st PMFC LSPPO, PDEU/PSOG LSPPO, RDEU, and PDEA BARMM, in coordination with the IMEG and RIU BAR.

Authorities identified the arrested suspects by their aliases, “Abulais” and “Urak”. The apprehension followed the successful consummation of a buy-bust transaction, during which law enforcers seized 31 grams of suspected shabu, including a 30-gram sachet valued at Php204,000 intended for sale and a 1-gram sachet worth Php6,800. Marked buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence were also confiscated.

The suspects are now in the custody of the Wao Municipal Police Station (MPS) for booking and documentation, and for the filing of charges under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Meanwhile, the seized substances and other evidence were turned over to PNP DEG SOU 15 for proper documentation and will be sent to the Regional Forensic Unit (RFU) in Cotabato City for laboratory examination.

Provincial Director PCOL Caezar P. Cabuhat of Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) praised the successful operation, noting that it highlights the strength of coordinated law enforcement efforts in the fight against illegal drugs.

“The success of this operation is a testament to the commitment and unity of our law enforcement units in ensuring the safety and security of our communities,” Cabuhat said.

This arrest marks another significant stride in Lanao del Sur’s ongoing campaign to dismantle drug networks and curb the circulation of dangerous substances in the region. Authorities continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations to prevent illegal drugs from reaching the streets.
