New Bataan, Davao de Oro – A local woman was killed inside her own home Wednesday night, January 14, 2026, in Barangay Bantacan, New Bataan.
Authorities identified the victim as Emilda, a housewife and resident of the barangay. Initial police investigation by the New Bataan Municipal Police Station (MPS) revealed that the suspect fired a gun through the bamboo kitchen wall of Emilda’s house, striking her while her assailant remained unidentified.
Police have launched a full investigation and a hot pursuit operation to identify and apprehend the person responsible for the crime. Officials are also looking into the motive behind the killing.
