Issued: December 7, 2025 | 5:00 AM

Mindanao residents are advised to prepare for another day of unstable weather conditions as Tropical Depression “Wilma” continues to move west-northwestward while localized thunderstorms persist across the region.

As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Wilma was located over Matuguinao, Samar (12.2°N, 125.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness reaching 75 km/h. The system is moving west-northwestward at 15 km/h, gradually influencing weather over the Visayas and portions of Mindanao.

General Conditions Across Mindanao

Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, primarily due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA warns of possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms—especially in flood-prone and mountainous areas.

Wind conditions will vary across the island. The western sections will see moderate to strong winds from the northeast to northwest, bringing moderate to rough seas with wave heights reaching 1.2 to 3.1 meters. The rest of Mindanao will experience moderate winds from varying directions—northwest, southwest, and southeast—with moderate seas of 1.2 to 2.5 meters.
