MATI CITY, DAVAO ORIENTAL — Police authorities arrested two alleged drug personalities and seized an estimated ₱374,000 worth of suspected shabu during a joint anti-drug operation in Barangay Matiao on December 8, 2025.

The successful operation was carried out by intelligence operatives, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Davao Oriental Provincial Office (PDEA DOPO). It resulted in the confiscation of around 55 grams of suspected shabu, alongside other evidence.

The intensified campaign forms part of the strengthened anti-illegal drug efforts of the Mati City Police Station under the leadership of PLTCOL Frederick C. Sa-ao, Acting Chief of Police (ACOP), and the guidance of PCOL Ritchie S. Bucol, Provincial Director of the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office (DOPPO). Their operations align with the directives of Acting Chief PNP PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. and PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Acting Regional Director of PRO 11.

Authorities reaffirmed that Mati CPS remains firm in its commitment to suppress illegal drug activities and ensure community safety, vowing continued proactive operations across the city.
