MARAWI CITY – Marawi City authorities successfully raided multiple illegal gambling operations, arresting more than ten individuals in a coordinated crackdown led by CPS-Marawi police under Chief of Police LTC Muhiddin Pagayawan.

The operation was spearheaded by City Vice Mayor Sultan Atty. Majul Usman Gandamra, in coordination with the newly established Marawi City Anti-Illegal Activities Office (MCDAO) headed by former Vice Mayor Anouar R. Abdulrauf. The joint effort underscores the city government’s firm stance against activities that violate Islamic City laws.

Vice Mayor Gandamra warned the leaders of illegal gambling operations, noting that some individuals in uniform were allegedly shielding these unlawful activities. He also called on barangay officials to actively support the campaign, urging them to immediately report any suspicious or undesirable activities in their communities to the police.

Mayor Shariff Zain Gandamra reinforced the crackdown, directing the Chief of Police to intensify efforts against all forms of illegal activity in the city. Officials said these coordinated measures demonstrate the city government’s renewed commitment to uphold law and order and ensure the safety and well-being of Marawi residents.
