JOLO, Sulu — Police are intensifying their investigation into a fatal shooting incident that occurred at around 4:48 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Bus-Bus, Jolo, leaving a 26-year-old man dead.

According to reports from the Jolo Municipal Police Station, officers immediately proceeded to the area upon receiving information about the gun attack. Responding personnel found the victim bloodied and sprawled on the road. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The victim was identified as Javer Sirajan Nassaie, 26, a resident of Sitio Kapok, Barangay Taglibi, Patikul, Sulu. Police said his remains were retrieved by his family later in the morning after post-processing procedures.

Initial investigation indicates that unidentified assailant/s opened fire on the victim while he was near the roadside with a red Honda ADV 150 motorcycle. Crime scene investigators recovered empty shells believed to have been used in the shooting, along with the motorcycle, which has been turned over to authorities.

Police have yet to establish the motive behind the killing, and the identity of the suspect/s remains unknown.

The Jolo MPS assures the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack and to bring the perpetrator/s to justice. Authorities are also appealing to residents who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing probe.
