TALAKAG, BUKIDNON — A decomposing body of a 35-year-old man was discovered in a remote grazing area in Barangay Dagumbaan, Talakag, Bukidnon, on Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2025. The victim, identified only as alias Ruben, was found lifeless with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and multiple stab wounds in the lower part of his body.
According to police reports, Ruben was last seen alive at around 8:30 p.m. on December 5. A man known only as alias Dennis went to the victim’s home that evening and informed the victim’s nephew that the rope tied to Ruben’s cow had come loose. Ruben immediately went to the grazing area to secure the animal but never returned home.
At around 4:00 a.m. the next day, the victim’s mother, accompanied by her grandchild, searched the grazing site in Sitio Babagyohan, Purok 6. There, they found Ruben’s body already in an advanced state of decomposition.
Police have identified alias Dennis as a person of interest, noting that he was the last individual to visit the victim before his disappearance and subsequent death. Investigators are now conducting a hot pursuit operation to locate and identify the possible suspect behind the brutal killing.
Authorities continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses as they work to establish the motive and circumstances surrounding the crime.
