Malaybalay City, Bukidnon — December 9, 2025 — The Bukidnon Police Provincial Office (PPO) received a significant cache of firearms today as former rebels formally returned to the fold of the law through a ceremonial turnover held at Camp Captain Ramon M. Onahon.

The event was led by PMAJ Romar J. Cahucom, Chief of the Provincial Logistics Unit, under the supervision of PCOL Oliver Sotto Navales, Officer-in-Charge of Bukidnon PPO. The turnover involved eight assorted high-powered firearms surrendered by two individuals who voluntarily abandoned armed struggle and opted to reintegrate into society under the Task Force Balik-Loob Program of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
The firearms were handed over by representatives of the 1st Special Forces Battalion, Philippine Army, based in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, highlighting the continued collaboration between the military and police in promoting peace and security in the province.
The ceremony was also graced by Ms. Shella Marie C. Albarece of DILG Bukidnon and other officials from the 1st Special Forces Battalion. Authorities emphasized that the surrender of firearms symbolizes a crucial step in ending local insurgencies and encouraging other members of rebel groups to follow suit.
“This turnover demonstrates our commitment to peace and the rehabilitation of former rebels,” PCOL Navales said. “We urge others involved in armed struggle to lay down their weapons and take the path of lawful reintegration.”
Through programs like E-CLIP, the government continues to provide former rebels with support for livelihood, education, and community reintegration, reinforcing Bukidnon’s ongoing efforts toward sustainable peace and security.
