DAVAO CITY — A barangay staff listed as a Top 10 City-Level High-Value Individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of Buhangin Police Station 5 on Tuesday night, December 9, 2025, in Corner Bacahoa Village near Roasters Lechon Baka, Barangay Cabantian, Davao City.



Police identified the suspect only as alias “Franz,” 35, a resident of Purok 35, Barangay Cabantian, and currently employed as a barangay staff. Authorities launched the operation past 9:50 p.m. after validating reports on the suspect’s alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
During the sting, an undercover officer was able to purchase a sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect. Subsequent search led to the confiscation of another sachet, bringing the total seized weight to 6.35 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱43,180.
Police also seized the motorcycle allegedly used by the suspect in his illegal transactions.
The operation was carried out by personnel of Buhangin Police Station 5 under the supervision of PMAJ Clarian Dave S. Toboso, Acting Station Commander, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and is now detained at the Buhangin Police Station. He will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, covering the sale and possession of illegal drugs.
Buhangin Police Station 5 emphasized that the arrest marks a significant breakthrough in its intensified campaign against illegal drugs, reiterating its commitment to safeguarding the community from drug-related threats.
