Cagayan de Oro City — Two members of the Militia ng Bayan (MB) under the dismantled Sub-Regional Committee 2 (SRC2) of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) have voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Don Carlos, Bukidnon, in separate intelligence operations conducted on November 22 and 23, 2025.
On November 22, personnel of the 2nd Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), working jointly with the Directorate for Intelligence–Mindanao Area Police Intelligence Office (DI-MAPIO), Malaybalay City Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 10, and the 1003rd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, facilitated the surrender of alias “Bulaw,” 27, a farmer from Barangay Indalasa, Malaybalay City. Authorities said he was an active member of the MB under the dismantled SPP1/PBY, Guerilla Front 89, SRC2, NCMRC, and had previously been linked to SRSDG PEDDLER of the same sub-regional committee.
A day later, on November 23, the same operating units secured the voluntary surrender of “Siloy,” 24, a laborer and also a resident of Barangay Indalasa. Police identified him as an MB member previously affiliated with the dismantled SPP1/PBY and former member of SRSDG PEDDLER. He reportedly yielded after learning that his brother, alias “Bulaw,” surrendered first and received government assistance through programs such as the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
Both individuals turned over two caliber .38 revolvers and are now under the custody of the 2nd Bukidnon PMFC for debriefing and profiling.
PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10), praised the joint efforts of the operating units and highlighted the government’s sustained drive to bring former rebels back to mainstream society.
“We commend the dedication of our men and partner agencies in persuading these individuals to abandon the armed struggle and embrace a peaceful and lawful path,” Abrahano said. “The Philippine National Police, in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other stakeholders, remains committed to sustaining peace and fostering development for our communities.”
Authorities said the successful surrenders reflect continuing progress in weakening remaining communist remnants in Northern Mindanao, as security forces intensify their peace and development initiatives across the region.
