DON CARLOS, Bukidnon — A member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to authorities and turned over his firearm on Monday afternoon, December 23, 2025, in a significant boost to the government’s peace and security efforts in Bukidnon.

Police identified the surrenderer as alias “Badi,” 53, who presented himself at around 4:15 p.m. at the Bukidnon 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd PMFC) Camp in Purok Mauswagon, Barangay Pinamaloy, Don Carlos.

The voluntary surrender was facilitated by personnel of the Bukidnon 2nd PMFC led by PMAJ Jessie James M. Lasdoce, Acting Force Commander, through a coordinated effort with the RPSB Valencia Cluster-1, Don Carlos Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 10, and the 1003rd Maneuver Company, RMFB 10.

During the process, the former CTG member surrendered one unit of a homemade shotgun with four live rounds of ammunition. The firearm and ammunition were immediately turned over to the Bukidnon 2nd PMFC for safe custody, documentation, and proper disposition, in accordance with standard operating procedures. Both the individual and the surrendered weapon are currently under the custody of the unit.

The Provincial Director commended the responding police personnel for their professionalism and effective coordination, describing the surrender as a clear indication that sustained engagement and community-based efforts are yielding results.

He also underscored the vital role of community cooperation and support, stressing that public trust and collaboration with law enforcement are key to ensuring that Bukidnon remains a safe place to live and do business.

Authorities reiterated their call for other members of armed groups to lay down their weapons and choose the path of peace, assuring them of lawful and humane processes in line with the government’s peace initiatives.
