Police Eye Robbery as Possible Motive

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao del Norte — An Indian national working as a loan collector was shot dead by three unidentified gunmen in Barangay Limbo on Sunday afternoon, November 2, 2025.

The victim was identified as Jagmeet Singh, a resident of Rosary Heights 10, Cotabato City. According to a report from the Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station (SK MPS), the shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. in Sitio Datu Faisal, Barangay Limbo.

Police said Singh was in the area collecting payments from clients when three armed men approached him and opened fire without warning. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and died instantly at the scene.

Initial investigation suggests that robbery may have been the motive, as the assailants reportedly fled with the victim’s collected money.

Authorities from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) and the Regional Forensic Unit (RFU-BAR) have been called to process the crime scene and gather additional evidence.

A hot pursuit operation has been launched to track down the suspects, while investigators continue to determine their identities and confirm whether robbery was indeed the motive.

Police have urged residents to come forward with any information that could help in the swift resolution of the case.
