GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A joint dawn buy-bust operation on November 28, 2025 led to the arrest of three high-value individuals (HVIs) and the recovery of over ₱134,000 worth of suspected shabu, along with multiple high-powered firearms, in Purok Mudia Extension, Barangay Labangal.

The operation was launched at around 4:27 AM by personnel of RPDEU 12 as the lead unit, with support from RIU 12, PDEG SOU 12, PDEA SarGen, and Police Station 2 of the General Santos City Police Office. Authorities coordinated the operation closely with PDEA 12, ensuring compliance with procedural standards.

Arrested during the buy-bust were:

  • “Alias Bapa,” 42, jobless
  • “Alias Beu,” 25, tricycle driver
  • “Alias Zen,” 41, construction worker

All three suspects are residents of Labangal and neighboring communities.

Recovered from the suspects were 19.8 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱134,640, consisting of medium- and small-sized sachets gathered separately from each suspect and the sachets sold during the transaction.

Police also seized an alarming cache of illegally possessed firearms, including:

  • A 9mm Uzi (serial no. 556331) with magazine
  • Another 9mm Uzi without serial number, loaded with three rounds
  • A .38 caliber revolver (serial no. PRO3046332) without ammunition
  • A .38 caliber revolver with a defaced serial number

Investigators said these weapons were being sold or carried illegally by the suspects during the operation.

Authorities likewise recovered buy-bust money, including a genuine ₱1,000 bill from Alias Bapa and ₱22,000 from Alias Beu—composed of one genuine ₱1,000 bill and twenty-one counterfeit ₱1,000 bills. Other seized items included bags, coin pouches, a medical scissor, and a disposable lighter.

The inventory and marking of all seized evidence were conducted in the presence of the suspects, HRPNCO Pat Requiso, media representative Edmund Delfin Rendon of DXRG 96.7 Infinite Radio, and Barangay Labangal Kagawad Francisco Cavan Jr. The confiscated drug evidence has been turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit for examination.

The suspects are now detained at Police Station 2, where formal charges are being prepared for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, illegal possession of firearms, and possession of counterfeit bills.

PBGEN ARNOLD P. ARDIENTE, Regional Director of PRO 12, praised the operatives for their precise execution during the high-risk operation.

“This operation is another proof of PRO 12’s unyielding campaign against illegal drugs and the proliferation of unlicensed firearms. Removing these high-value suspects and firearms from our streets significantly weakens criminal elements in General Santos City. We stand firm in our resolve to protect our communities and ensure peace and security in SOCCSKSARGEN,” PBGEN Ardiente said.

Authorities vowed to sustain intensified anti-crime operations as part of ongoing efforts to secure communities across the region.
