ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY — A woman was found lifeless inside her home in Barangay San Isidro, Siay, at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025. Authorities have ruled out foul play, pointing to depression as the likely factor behind the tragic incident.

According to police investigation, the victim’s husband discovered her around noon after returning from buying household supplies. Alarmed by the sight, he immediately sought help from neighbors to free her from the rope and attempted to revive her.

Responders from the Siay Municipal Police Station and the Siay Rural Health Unit rushed to the scene. Despite efforts to provide immediate medical attention, the victim was declared dead.

Family members told investigators that the victim had been battling insomnia, anxiety, and severe emotional distress for more than a week. They shared that she had been deeply troubled by fears of another difficult pregnancy after experiencing trauma in a previous childbirth.

Loved ones believe the weight of depression drove her to end her life, describing her recent behavior as increasingly withdrawn and restless.

Authorities emphasized that no foul play was found in the incident, and the victim’s remains have been turned over to her family for proper burial rites.
