Mindanao – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms across Mindanao today, October 16, 2025, due to localized thunderstorms. Residents are advised to stay alert for possible flash floods or landslides, especially in areas prone to heavy rainfall or severe thunderstorms.
According to PAGASA’s Mindanao (MINPRSD) Regional Forecast issued at 5:00 a.m., light to moderate winds from the northeast will prevail throughout the region, bringing slight to moderate seas ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 meters.
Regional Conditions
Zamboanga Peninsula — Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City will experience partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies with localized rain showers or thunderstorms throughout the day and night. Temperatures will range between 24°C and 33°C, while coastal waters remain slight to moderate with light to moderate northeast winds.
Northern Mindanao — The provinces of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental are expected to have generally fair weather with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. Temperatures will range from 22°C to 32°C. Coastal waters will remain calm to moderate, ideal for small fishing vessels and coastal activities.
Davao Region — Metro Davao and the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental will likewise experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures may reach up to 33°C, cooling to around 23°C at night. Winds will blow light to moderate from the northeast, with slight to moderate seas.
SOCCSKSARGEN — North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani will have similar weather patterns—generally fair in the morning but with chances of thunderstorms by afternoon or evening. Temperatures will hover between 23°C and 33°C, with calm to moderate sea conditions.
Caraga Region — Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands are forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Daytime highs may reach 33°C, with nighttime lows of around 24°C. Seas will remain slight to moderate, favorable for fishing and marine transport.
Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) — Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur will experience partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures are expected between 25°C and 33°C, with light to moderate northeast winds and slight to moderate sea conditions.
Public Advisory
PAGASA warns that while most of Mindanao will experience fair weather, localized thunderstorms may develop rapidly in the afternoon or evening. These could bring sudden heavy downpours, strong lightning, and gusty winds, posing risks of flash floods and landslides in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Fisherfolk and those with small sea vessels are advised to remain cautious when venturing into the seas, especially during periods of thunderstorms.
