MAMBAJAO, Camiguin — Authorities arrested a male suspect and seized more than ₱126,000 worth of suspected shabu in a successful anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Barangay Tagdo, Mambajao, Camiguin, on Monday afternoon, October 27, 2025.

According to the Mambajao Municipal Police Station, the buy-bust operation was carried out at around 4:40 p.m. by joint elements of the Mambajao MPS under the supervision of PCPT Jesson M. Gabotero, Officer-in-Charge, along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Camiguin, the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), and the Camiguin Police Mobile Force Platoon (CPMFP).

During the operation, authorities confiscated approximately 18.65 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱126,820.00.

Recovered from the suspect were several heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, marked buy-bust money, a driver’s license, a cellular phone, a red lighter, an empty Mentos container used to conceal the illegal substance, and ₱2,065 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug transactions.

The suspect and the seized items are now under police custody for proper documentation and filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police officials said the operation highlights the continued commitment of the Mambajao MPS and its partner agencies in intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs across the province of Camiguin.
