MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN – A joint operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office X (PDEA RO-X) and the Mambajao Municipal Police Station (MPS) led to the arrest of a municipal employee involved in the illegal drug trade. The buy-bust operation took place on March 22, 2025, in Barangay Yumbing, Mambajao, Camiguin.
Authorities identified the suspect as Alias Junrey, a 25-year-old employee of the Municipality of Mambajao and a resident of Barangay Yumbing. Law enforcement officers seized five grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱68,000.
The suspect is set to face charges for violating Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao and urged the public to support the government’s anti-drug efforts by reporting any suspicious activities to local authorities.
