The Marine Battalion Landing Team-4 (MBLT-4), in partnership with the Provincial Local Government of Tawi-Tawi, successfully conducted the Ceremonial Turnover of surrendered and confiscated loose firearms in Barangay Luuk Pangdan.
The firearms were turned over from various barangays of the 1st District, including Nalil, Karungdong, Mandulan, Tongsinah, Malassa, Lapid-Lapid, Tongmageng, Datu Baguinda Putih, Panglima Alari, and Sipangkot.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Social Services and Development, local government officials, and the Commander of the 2nd Marine Brigade. According to MBLT-4, the voluntary surrender of firearms was a result of strengthened peace and order initiatives and intensified Territorial Defense Operations in the province.
This initiative reflects the growing trust of local communities in the government and the military. It aims to reduce crime, conflict, and violence — key steps toward achieving lasting peace and sustainable development across Tawi-Tawi. The event stands as proof that through the united efforts of the Armed Forces, local government units, partner agencies, and the public, a safer and more peaceful region can be realized.
