LAMBAYONG, Sultan Kudarat — One man was killed while another was injured and miraculously survived after being shot by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday night, October 29, 2025, in Purok Rosal, Barangay Pimbalayan, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

The fatality was identified as alias “Bordeck Didal,” estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old, and a resident of Barangay T’Bolok, T’boli, South Cotabato. The injured victim was identified as Rodney Completado Maderico, 33, married, and a resident of Barangay Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato. Maderico was initially rushed to Evangelista Medical Clinic in Lambayong and later transferred to the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital in Koronadal City for further treatment.

According to the Lambayong Municipal Police Station, the two victims had traveled together from South Cotabato earlier that day to visit a friend known as “Ibrahim Lucas” in Lambayong. Investigators learned that upon their arrival around 1:30 p.m., the duo met with two unidentified individuals who reportedly took them to an undisclosed location. There, the suspects allegedly pointed guns at them before opening fire.

Police recovered three spent shells of an unknown caliber at the crime scene.

Authorities initially found the lifeless bodies of two men dumped along a grassy roadside in Barangay Pimbalayan. Both victims had their hands tied, and one had a tattoo on his leg. However, only later was it confirmed that one of the victims survived and managed to receive medical attention.

Investigators are looking into possible motives, while a hot pursuit operation has been launched to track down the perpetrators. The Lambayong police are also urging anyone with missing relatives or information about the case to coordinate with their station.

The brutal incident adds to the growing list of violent crimes in the region, prompting renewed calls for stronger law enforcement visibility and community vigilance.
