Isabela City, Basilan – September 20, 2024 — Against the backdrop of clear skies in Lamitan City, the TRAJAN paratroopers of the 101st Infantry Brigade soared high as they joined the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne)-wide Airborne Sustainment Training in Barangay Limook, Basilan Province.

Led by Brigadier General Frederick M. Sales, Commander of the 101st Infantry Brigade, the unit actively participated in the large-scale exercise aimed at honing the operational readiness and confidence of airborne-qualified soldiers.

The training brought together 140 seasoned paratroopers from the 6th Special Forces Battalion, who demonstrated precision, skill, and discipline in their airborne operations. The activity showcased not only the technical proficiency of the jumpers but also the importance of sustaining the elite traditions of airborne units in the Philippine Army.

TRAJAN troopers, recognized for their active role in maintaining peace and security in Basilan, joined the training to strengthen interoperability with airborne counterparts and ensure mission-readiness for future operations.

For Brig. Gen. Sales, the event highlighted the value of constant training and discipline. “Sustainment exercises such as this remind our troops of the high standards expected from airborne soldiers—courage, competence, and commitment to the mission,” he said.

Beyond the thrill of the jump, the training underscored the unity and professionalism of the Philippine Army’s airborne forces, reinforcing their vital role in safeguarding communities across Mindanao.
