JOLO, Sulu — The Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) formally turned over the Sulu Police Provincial Office (PPO) to the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO 9) in a reintegration ceremony held on September 15, 2025, in Barangay Asturias, Jolo, Sulu.

The ceremony, led by Sulu Governor Abdusakur A. Tan II, marked the official transfer of administrative supervision and operational control of the Sulu PPO to PRO 9. The event was attended by top-ranking Philippine National Police (PNP) officials, including PMGEN Neri Vincent D. Ignacio, Chief of the Directorial Staff, and PMGEN Lex Ephraim C. Gurat, Director for Plans.

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO BAR, thanked the officers and personnel of Sulu PPO for their dedication and service under PRO BAR. He urged them to maintain the same level of professionalism, discipline, and teamwork as they begin their reintegration into PRO 9.

“This initiative reflects our collective commitment to effective policing and responsive governance,” De Guzman said, emphasizing the importance of continuity and unity in safeguarding peace and security across regions.

The reintegration is seen as a strategic step to strengthen coordination and operational efficiency in law enforcement in Sulu, while ensuring that public safety services remain consistent and responsive to the needs of local communities.
