PATIKUL, Sulu — A 28-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Barangay Gandasuli, Patikul, Sulu, on Thursday morning, August 14.
Police identified the victim as Aljimar Alih Nasir, single, and a resident of Barangay Bus-Bus, Jolo, Sulu.
Based on the spot report of the Patikul Municipal Police Station, personnel led by Chief of Police PCpt. Kier John Leaño responded to information from concerned citizens about a shooting incident in a wooded area of Barangay Gandasuli at around 7:20 p.m.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim was on his way home from visiting acquaintances in Sitio Bunkhouse, Barangay Maubuh, when he was suddenly shot by an unidentified suspect.
Authorities are conducting follow-up operations to determine the motive and identify the perpetrator.
