ZAMBOANGA CITY – A street food vendor, identified only as Jinggoy, was wounded after he was allegedly shot in Bulahan Drive, Barangay Baliwasan, on Sunday, September 8.
According to police reports, the victim figured in a heated altercation with a group of men prior to the shooting. Moments later, shots rang out, leaving Jinggoy injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.
Authorities swiftly responded to the incident and arrested two suspects believed to be directly involved in the shooting. Their identities have yet to be disclosed pending further investigation.
Police said the motive appears to have stemmed from a personal dispute, though investigators are still gathering evidence to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
Zamboanga City Police Office commended its responding personnel for their quick action, which led to the suspects’ immediate capture.
Meanwhile, residents of Barangay Baliwasan expressed alarm over the shooting, calling for tighter security measures in the area to prevent similar incidents.
