ZAMBOANGA CITY – A senior citizen was found dead inside a motel room in Barangay Canelar on Friday evening, September 26, 2025, after reportedly drinking a so-called “miracle coffee.”
According to initial police reports, the elderly man checked into the establishment at around 6:00 p.m. together with an unidentified woman. Moments later, the victim allegedly consumed the said coffee product, collapsed, and lost consciousness.
Authorities rushed to the scene but the victim was declared dead on-site. Investigators are now trying to determine whether the coffee had a direct link to his sudden death or if other factors such as a possible medical condition or foul play were involved.
The woman who accompanied the victim is now considered a person of interest, pending further investigation. Police are also conducting background checks on the product in question, which is being marketed for its purported stimulating effects.
The body of the deceased has been taken for autopsy to establish the exact cause of death, while investigators continue to gather evidence to shed light on the incident.
