ZAMBOANGA CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized at least one kilo of high-grade shabu worth an estimated ₱6.8 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sinunuc on September 8, 2025.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Almisal,” is a construction worker from Patta, Jolo. Authorities said he yielded a golden tea pack branded “Guanyinwang,” which contained the contraband.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Regional Office IX (PDEA RO9), the 904th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (RMFB9), and Zamboanga City Police Station 8.
The suspect is now facing charges for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA RO9 reiterated its commitment to intensify operations against drug traffickers and distributors in the Zamboanga Peninsula, stressing that the agency remains steadfast in supporting the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.
