September 5, 2025 – El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies across Mindanao today, September 5, with chances of isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by localized thunderstorms. Residents are advised to remain alert for possible flash floods or landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms.
According to the 5:00 a.m. regional weather bulletin, light to moderate winds from the southeast to southwest will prevail throughout the island, with coastal waters expected to be slight to moderate, ranging between 0.6 to 1.2 meters in wave height.
Zamboanga Peninsula
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms both in the morning and evening.
- Winds will be light to moderate, coming from the southeast to southwest, while seas will remain slight to moderate.
- Temperatures are forecast between 23°C to 33°C across the peninsula.
Northern Mindanao
- Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental can expect similar weather conditions, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and rainshowers or thunderstorms possible throughout the day.
- Daytime highs may reach 31°C, while cooler evening temperatures in Bukidnon may drop to 20°C.
Davao Region
- Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental are forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized thunderstorms.
- Winds will range from southeast to southwest, remaining light to moderate, with coastal conditions staying slight to moderate.
- Temperatures will range between 24°C and 32°C, with Davao Oriental seeing slightly cooler conditions at night.
SOCCSKSARGEN
- North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani will continue to see variable weather marked by cloudy intervals and thunderstorms.
- Daytime temperatures may climb to 33°C, with evening lows around 23°C.
Caraga Region
- Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will experience the same partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated thunderstorms.
- Temperatures are expected between 24°C and 33°C, with coastal seas remaining calm to slight.
Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)
- Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur are forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with periods of thunderstorms.
- Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are also expected.
- Daytime highs will reach up to 32°C, while nighttime lows could dip to 20°C in the cooler upland areas of Lanao del Sur.
Public Advisory
PAGASA reminds Mindanaoans to remain vigilant against sudden heavy rains that could trigger flooding or landslides, particularly in flood-prone and mountainous areas. Fisherfolk and small sea craft operators are likewise advised to monitor weather updates regularly due to occasional thunderstorms that may affect coastal waters.
