The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Tropical Depression Mirasol continues to influence weather conditions across parts of the country while the Southwest Monsoon brings scattered rains over Mindanao, particularly the Zamboanga Peninsula.

As of 3:00 a.m. today, the center of Mirasol was spotted over the coastal waters of Casiguran, Aurora (16.2°N, 122.2°E). It carried maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness reaching 90 km/h, and was moving northwestward at 10 km/h.

Zamboanga Peninsula

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is prevailing over Zamboanga Peninsula, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms throughout the day and into the evening. PAGASA warns of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate with wave heights of 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

  • Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City: Temperatures will range between 23°C and 31°C with consistent chances of thunderstorms.

Northern Mindanao

Provinces in Northern Mindanao, including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, will generally experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized convection. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest to south, and coastal waters will remain slight to moderate. Temperatures will range from 20°C to 31°C.

Davao Region

The Davao provinces, including Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, as well as Metro Davao, are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms. Afternoon and evening showers are possible, with coastal waters forecast at slight to moderate. Daytime temperatures will hover between 22°C and 31°C.

SOCCSKSARGEN

North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated thunderstorms. Winds remain light to moderate, with seas generally calm to slight. Temperatures are forecast between 23°C and 31°C.

Caraga Region

Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will see a mix of sun and clouds, but isolated thunderstorms are possible, especially in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures are expected to range from 23°C to 33°C, with slight to moderate seas.

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)

The region faces varying conditions. Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms, while Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Lanao del Sur, and Cotabato City will see partly cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures range from 21°C to 32°C, and coastal waters are slight to moderate.

Advisory

PAGASA advises residents in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas, particularly in the Zamboanga Peninsula and BARMM provinces, to remain vigilant. Fisherfolk and small sea vessels are also cautioned due to moderate seas and localized thunderstorms.
