BANSALAN, Davao del Sur – A female body was discovered in a secluded area of Purok 3, Barangay Buenavista, Bansalan, on Monday afternoon, September 29, 2025.
According to the Bansalan Municipal Police Station (MPS), the body was first found by a man who was jogging past the area at around 5:00 p.m. He reportedly noticed a foul odor and initially thought it came from a dead animal. Upon tracing the source, he was shocked to discover the lifeless body of a naked woman, prompting him to immediately report the incident to authorities.
Responding police investigators recovered pieces of clothing and an android cellphone near the body. The victim was later identified by a friend, known only as “Angel,” as a resident of Barangay Barayong, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.
Authorities confirmed that the body was already in an advanced state of decomposition, though they have yet to determine the exact time and cause of death. Investigators are now working to establish circumstances surrounding the crime and to identify possible suspects.
The Bansalan MPS assured that a thorough investigation is underway to bring justice to the victim.
