Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte — Authorities have identified the man found dead along the national highway in Sitio Linamunan (Tampat), Barangay Taviran, on Monday afternoon.
The victim was named as Abu Sadid Landasan, an Arabic teacher from Barangay Lawili, Aleosan, North Cotabato. He was earlier discovered bound with rope and bearing multiple gunshot wounds on his chest and right arm.
According to the Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipal Police Station, a concerned citizen reported the body at around 2:40 p.m. Responding personnel recovered the victim wearing black pants, a jacket, and a pink inner shirt with markings linked to a local madrasah. Three spent shells, believed to be from a .45 caliber pistol, were also found at the scene.
Relatives said Landasan was last seen in Barangay New Panay, Aleosan, where he had his motorcycle repaired before planning to proceed to Carmen to visit family. He never made it to his destination.
The victim was rushed to DOS District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. His remains have since been transferred to a funeral home.
Police continue to investigate the incident to determine the motive and identify the suspects.
