GENERAL LUNA, Surigao del Norte — Authorities scored a major breakthrough in the anti-drug campaign with the arrest of a 29-year-old woman and the confiscation of over ₱4.3 million worth of high-grade marijuana kush during a buy-bust operation on Thursday night, September 5, in Barangay San Ramon, Tawin-tawin.

Police Colonel Warren E. Dablo, Provincial Director of the Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office, confirmed that the joint operation by the General Luna Municipal Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Siargao Interdiction Unit led to the capture of the suspect, identified only as alias “May,” a resident of Barangay Poblacion.

Recovered from the suspect were 14 small transparent sachets containing suspected marijuana kush weighing around 3,125 grams, with a standard drug price of ₱4,375,000. Also seized were a genuine ₱1,000 bill used as marked money, two Android cellphones, a gray belt bag, two corrugated shipping boxes, and a blue/black Honda Click 125i motorcycle with plate number JQJ161.

“The SDN PNP remains steadfast in its commitment to pursue high-value targets and dismantle drug networks across the province. We ask the public to actively support our campaign by promptly reporting crimes and illegal activities, ensuring immediate and effective police action,” Dablo said in a statement.

The suspect, who faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is now under the custody of the General Luna Municipal Police Station. The operation was conducted in the presence of a barangay councilor and a Department of Justice representative.
