August 21, 2025 – Mindanao — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) located 855 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon continues to influence weather conditions in the country, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is affecting the entire Mindanao region.

From 5:00 a.m. today until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow, Mindanao residents can expect varying weather conditions, with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.

Zamboanga Peninsula

  • Zamboanga City: Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms; temperatures 23–34°C.
  • Zamboanga del Norte: Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms; 24–31°C.
  • Zamboanga del Sur: Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms; 22–32°C.
  • Zamboanga Sibugay: Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms; 23–31°C.
  • Isabela City (Basilan side): Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms; 22–30°C.

Northern Mindanao

  • Bukidnon: Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms; 21–32°C.

Winds and Seas

Throughout Mindanao, light to moderate winds from the south to northeast will prevail, with seas expected to be slight to moderate (0.8 to 1.2 meters).

PAGASA reminded the public to remain vigilant against possible flash floods and landslides, especially in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall.
