Mindanao – Residents across Mindanao are advised to brace for isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day, as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reports partly cloudy to cloudy skies caused by localized thunderstorms.

In its latest regional weather forecast released at 5:00 AM today, PAGASA’s Mindanao PRSD said that most parts of the island will experience light to moderate winds ranging from southeast to southwest. Coastal waters are expected to be slight to moderate with wave heights between 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

Regional Breakdown:

  • Zamboanga Peninsula – Including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, del Sur, Sibugay, and Isabela City, conditions will be partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy with chances of rainshowers or thunderstorms. Winds will come from the southeast to south, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C.
  • Northern Mindanao – Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental can expect similar weather. Bukidnon will remain dry and cool with highs up to 34°C, while coastal provinces may reach 33°C. Winds will be light to moderate from the south to southwest.
  • Davao Region – From Metro Davao to Davao de Oro, del Norte, del Sur, Oriental, and Occidental, scattered thunderstorms are forecasted, with temperatures from 20°C to 34°C. Winds will be light to moderate from the southeast to south.
  • SOCCSKSARGEN – North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani will experience passing rainshowers and localized thunderstorms. Daily highs will range between 24°C to 34°C.
  • Caraga Region – Agusan del Norte and Sur, Surigao del Norte and Sur, and Dinagat Islands will continue to experience fair weather interspersed with isolated rains. Temperatures are forecasted to reach up to 35°C in some inland areas.
  • Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) – Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte and del Sur, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are all expected to have generally fair weather, but must remain cautious of sudden thunderstorms. Temperatures may peak between 29°C to 33°C.

Safety Reminder

PAGASA reminds residents, especially those in flood-prone and low-lying areas, to remain vigilant for possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms. Fisherfolk and small sea vessels are advised to take precautionary measures due to moderate sea conditions.
